Whether you're after guidance to sharpen your casting technique or simply keen for a great day of guided fishing on the streams of the Victorian High Country, John has you covered. He welcomes fly fishers of all abilities — from complete beginners to seasoned anglers — and works with clients across all fitness levels.
You're looked after — safe, fed, and taught something you will keep for life. Most people leave with a cast that finally makes sense and a river or stream they know how to read correctly.
What's included
Casting lesson
Casting lessons are done locally in Benalla. This will be great for beginners and intermediates who are not sure about their casting. All equipment is supplied if needed, covering leaders, knots, loop control and line management.
Euro nymphing
Tight line technique taught properly, plus dry fly and swinging flies depending on the day and the river.
Flies & tackle supplied
Waders, boots, wading staff, rods, reels and flies all supplied. Bring nothing but yourself. If you have your favourite gear, ring it along!
Beside you all day
Not a drop-off. Your guide suits up and walks the river beside you the entire session.
Catering included
Lunch, snacks and drinks on full day sessions; snacks and drinks on half days. Dietary requirements catered for.

Heavy on inclusion. Trips are readily adapted for people with mobility issues — tell us what you need.

We go anywhere from the Delatite River, upper and lower Goulburn River and right up to the Ovens, King, Buckland, and Kiewa rivers, including everything in between.
